La Picara: Restaurant Branding Philippines

Cheeky identity introducing a warm, expressive vibe for a hip cuisine destination in Bonifacio Global City

Inspired by the spirit and joyful abandon of a naughty señorista, the maverick group of young entrepreneurs behind La Picara invited Design For Tomorrow to build, from the ground up, the brand identity for a Spanish fusion restaurant with a tropical vibe.

Working very closely with the owners and a team of chefs, architects, and interior designers, DFT oversaw the challenging but creatively rewarding identity program unifying tropical, cuisine, and sexy elements into a cohesive identity to support the customized, elegant wordmark. An expressive suite of patterns was developed and applied across packaging, interior details, and reinterpreted for its murals. DFT also oversaw all identity applications: from merchandising, product labels, staff shirts to bar and serving accouterments.

The unmistakably La Picara identity helped raise the restaurant’s visibility and profile in a highly competitive and saturated hospitality sector.

“There are no other words but THANK YOU that we can say to express our thanks. Thank you @ricgindap and the @designfortomorrow team for your beautiful work. First time we talked to Ric about the restaurant he seemed that he had the concept in mind already. They went way further than a branding design team. That’s what they do. That’s why they are the best. Helping from the first step of deciding the name, they went from the logo to the design of the wall murals, t-shirt, business cards, menus, bags, napkins… and a never-ending list of small details that made the place as Pícara as we wanted.
We gave them a hard time and they gave us an amazing result. We truly believe it’s impossible to do any better.
Thank you!”
